You see QR codes everywhere, in magazines and newspapers, on business cards, even shampoo bottles.
So what’s a QR Code and what is it good for?
A QR code can be scanned with an Smartphone that has a barcode scanning app installed – and most of us do because originally we thought it would be fun to try out. Customers can scan your QR code off your business cards, brochure, even website and you can direct them to anywhere you like; your website, a specials page on your site, your facebook page or twitter account, depending on the purpose of the QR code. It’s a great idea if you’re running campaigns and trying to see which media gets the most attending.
For example: You have two business cards designed one dark and one light and you want to see which one is going to generate more buzz about your company. Put QR codes on the cards and direct them to different landing pages on your website; then monitor the traffic. Now you’ll see which card is more effective. Similarly, you can have the same business card design in a few locations and just change the QR code on the cards; and see in which location people are picking up your business cards.
QR codes are useful to get traffic to wherever you are online.
